I OWN 4 ACRES IN TOWNSHIP 7 NORTH AND THERE WERE A LOT OF FLARES IN PEOPLES YARD BACK IN THE 70S AND 80S ,ALL THOSE FOLKS HAS PASSED NOW AND THERE KIDS HAVE MOVED ON,I REMEMBER YEARS AGO THEY WANTED TO DRILL ON OUR PROPERTY WHEN I WAS A KID,I DONT NO WHAT HAPPENED WHY IT DIDN'T HAPPEN,BUT I REMEMBER MY SAID HE DID GET A CHECK BACK THEN,THERES OLD GAS AND OIL WELLS ALL OVER IN THAT AREA,IF SOMEONE KNOWS WHEN THEY MAY GET IN THAT AREA AND WHO TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THEY SURE CAN DRILL ON THAT PROPERTY NOW,THANKS

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
