The big $ of 30,000/acres are for the large tracts of 1000 arces or more. What are the offers for the small acre tracts that most people have? <5 net acres, 5-10, 10-20, 20-50, >50, >100 or so acres.

Aduba- Read the discussion that I started called "Chesapeak and Shelby County" in this group. This offer is for my just over 4 acres. (This would be my share of 41 acres) The original offer was for $3500, for 3 and opt 2 at $3500. The surface owner of my property has just over 41 acres, and his original offer was for $5500, if I remember right. Hopefully this helps answer your question.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
