Hello, my husband inherited some mineral rights a while back, which we didn't know about until we were contacted by Chesapeake a couple years ago.  We signed a lease agreement with them, but living far away and knowing NOTHING about wells, drilling, etc., we joined this site in hopes of finding out more.  Unfortunately, the terminology is so foreign to us that we haven't been able to figure anything out.  Does anyone have any info on what Chesapeake is doing in the area listed below; we have heard nothing from Chesapeake since signing the lease.

S-T-R/S-A: Benjamin White Survey, A-762

County: Shelby

State: TX

Prospect: Temple E TX Expansion

Any info that you can provide would be so greatly appreciated!

Hello Yun,

There is some very new activity that looks to be pretty interesting in that region of Shelby County.

Chesapeake has a brand new permit to drill their Smith 1-H well in that same Ben White survey.

Here's a links with further info on that well:

Devon is also currently drilling their Adams 1-H well directly above the Chesapeake unit. Info on that Adams well is at the following link:

A lot will be learned as these two wells are completed regarding how things are looking for this area.

I will say, however, that Devon's CEO and lead production engineer were both stating that they expect very good results in this area of Shelby and Panola Counties during their recent year end 2009 report. Let's hope that proves to be correct.
Thank you so much. This is all so very interesting for Wisconsinites!
looks like acreage with leases held in survey 762 by predominantly Burk Royalty, Devon Energy and Chesapeake

permits in the survey by Unit Petroleum and Burk Roylaty and 1 permit chesapeake as mentioned=Smith #1H--703 acre unit
