leases NE Shelby with options----

Unit Petroleum has picked up 2 year extention options on most of their 3 year leases in J. White, J. Engish, McKey, CL Wharton,  Strickland , and other surveys in NE Shelby near Joaquin that did not have high cost extentions most in the $350 range bonus with  were due to expire in March. CHK on the other hand had a lot of $3000 +range bonus options that they simply let expire in March and I understand plan  same with option due for extention April thru Sept 2011.  The Bossier Shale is lead driver in this area now rather than the Haynesville shale based on the R Hays Dean well IP 8.7 mmcfd in the Bossier. Will be interest to see if any activity occur with the CHK leases that CHK let expire since CHK simple overextend their plate with more acreage than they can drill and has interest else where. If any one had leased with CHK in NE Shelby that expired please post any renewed interest that occurs with your minerals for release.

Yeah Adubu, here in the NW Shelby/SE Rusk county line area, CHK could have mercy on us all if they let the leases go. Heck, most if not all of us leased at $300 an acre or less with a 2/yr extention for heavens sake ha. When/if this NatGas Act passes Congress we'll all be in high cotton. $3000 an acre with 25% royalties WITH no carry cost contract AND pugh clauses out the A$$ ha. This time around will be much more equitable for East Texas mineral owners.....CHK is a corporation and was just doing what they are mandated to do for their shareholders BUT on this go round lets take it to the hoop! We'll start over, and network with neighbors and sign as indivisable smaller units.

easttexas 12----It all depends on the geology and what has been found in area ( recent drilling results)that will determent if re-lease is offered and for what amount. Has anyone been shooting 3-D siesmic recently in your area?

I was prowling through projects in the National Forest a while back and noticed that the Blankenship Creek well project was canceled.  I didn't find anything on the other CHK well permitted up there... USA Fed #1H, I think it was called.  There was no reason given for the cancellation.  I bet it was woodpeckers... (just kidding).

dbob, the Blankenship Creek FED GU #1H was permitted in S. English, A-180, about six miles SE of Joaquin.  It is on the west side of FS Road 137A, near the south end (where road fades off into the timber).

jffree1--- CHK results on the Harvey #1H was poor and probably resulted in lost interest in this area for Haynesville shale and decision to spend drilling money elsewhere. The R Dean Hays #2H however shows some good Bossier shale at 8.7 mmcfd IP not the best and at $4 gas not good return but when gas get up in $7-8 then I bet interest will return and we will see more Bossier Shale Wells drilled in area. Of interest I hear that CHK is letting the high bonus 2 year options of $2-5000 expire this Qt. and a indepent Landman friend I know has just this week was hired to go back into a area that includes South Panola into NE Shelby as for south as East of Center. What Company hiring him unknow at present time. It be interest to see what happens. I have some minerals that will expire soon in the Joel White.

Would be interested in which company/landman is looking "S Panole into NE Shelby as far south as East of Center" have 274+ acres available for lease in that area.

I have a relative leased by CHK; her son leased for them; lease not renewed.  Ashton Hill Federal Well permitted has not been drilled.  Seems it may not be drilled.There is a federal well being drilled by Classic and the location is being completed now.  It is near there.

Road and two well pad (500x500) under construction on south side of N.A.  Middleton Survey (will not be in unit) by Classic???? to drill under National Forrest into area leased by Petrohawk as far as I can tell from Petrohawk lease maps.  This site is 2.75 miles north west of the previously permitted (apparently abandoned permit) Blankenship Creek well.

Am told??? this will be a Haynesville horizontal test for one well.  Hard to figure how Classic, without the funds and or knowhow would be drilling this on their own nickel, suspect someone with deeper pockets and horizontal drilling experience is actually footing the bill.  Do not know for sure what the targets are for either well.

 

These wells could be make or break for mineral owners south of the mostly HBP in the Joaquin field.   Look for permit "Courtney #2" when it is applied for.

 

I have land and minerals very close to this and some a couple of miles south that were leased by Unit but expired.  They were three party leases with one party being paid for option and Unit made a mistake and did not pick up the other 2/3s but wanted to pick it up but I said we would have to renegotiate terms.  Kind of in a pickle as to wether to give option back to Unit or wait for results of these new wells.  We've all heard of the bird in hand,  also, bulls make money, bears make money but hogs get slaughtered.  Any one have any input.

prudhoe bay---- what abstract # of Middleton Survey? I see a J W Middleton along Hwy 7 Where are the pad sites in relation to this survey?
