Does anyone know which companies (names & numbers please) are leasing right now (if any) in Northern Shelby..near Tenaha. And can any of you tell me what the going rate is in this area as well? Would it be better for us to just wait until the price of NG rises? Thanks!

What survey is your land located on?

Hello Laurie,

I would be interested in how far you have gotten on your offers/leasing etc.. I too am in Shelby County and am having some trouble moving forward. Maybe you could add me as a friend so as not to give too many details if you prefer.
I am also wondering who I would contact. I am in Shelby County and was just informed of a survey in progress but I have no leases on my property. Who do I contact to find out if someone wants to lease it? And what is the rate per acre? It is Neuville, about half way between Center and San Augustine just off Hwy 96. Thanks for any information.
allen---go on the Texas RRC site online ---click on the online queries then on the public GIS map--- zoom in on shelby county and Neuville and you will see several James Lime H wells drilled by Devon and XTO just west of hwy 69. If these are close to you then go to XTO and Devon web sites. look for contact infomation to their land development and leasing department then send email re your minerals location, legal, and number net minerals you have and see if they have interest. Good luck
Allen look at what I just posted about COG and H Pettet wells OIL !!! This is only few miles from Neuville--suggest you contact COG about your minerals and the price should go UP
Devon Energy..agent in san Augustine is Jeff Jones 936-288-0559..leases going for 500.00 per net acre.

Calbot Oil & Gas Corporation Houston, TX

I don't have a phone number for Calbot Oil but you can contact them to see who is their agent in the Shelby County area. Leases being written for 250.00 per net acre but I would try to get 600.00.

here chick- chick, here chick .......
Yeah, here we go again. Does everybody realize why this website is here? It is because of the magnitude of the shale. With that in mind, dont allow these companies to take advantage of the economy and slap you with a low offer. Do not let people rob you of your assets, they are yours so dont give them away.
Our family has seen the complete contrast with their offers: from 300 per acre to over 5000 per acre on the same tract! Remember, commision is the salesman's game and jets are the corporate taxi. Dont settle for a new couch while sending these companies to Tahiti for a meeting to talk about your gas wells.
I don't know anyone who is paying in Shelby County at the present time 5000 per net acre. You can't get more then 600.00.. I have spoken to several and that is what people are being paid. If you don't take their offers they will just get it anyway and you get nothing. They are crooks and that is why they get the money and you get 1400.00 when they send out divisional papers. The contracts are for them. Don't sign a contract until you take it to an attorney. Also don't sign divisional orders until they give you a break down of everything. I had someone tell me it would come with the check. Get it before and dont sign it before you do.
