Could someone explain to me how two different unit plats, 419-31194 Allen Gas Unit no. 2-H and newly approved 419-31489 Buffaloes DU no. 1H, can share the same acreage?

One company may have the deep rights and one may have the shallow rights?
i think "they" must make some mistakes. there is the same situation in two units near me.

looks like BUFFALO=XTO WILDCAT DEEP TEST AND THE ALLEN GAS UNIT #1h AND #2H=JAMES LIME ELLORA..ANYONE KNOW IF ELLORA HAS SOLD THEIR DEEP RIGHTS AT HUXLEY YET? REPORTED THAT THEY DID A SMALL 5000 ACRE OR SO FARMOUT DEEP RIGHTS WITH EOG ON THE LOUISIANA SIDE RECENTLY
checked it out on drillinginfo and acreage not the same--both XTO wells lined up side by side..seems all leased by XTO (through Hunt acquisition)

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
