Roger,
We just noticed that Southwestern plans to bid in Louisiana on Dec 11 for the state-owned Corney Creek waterway, from where Corney enters LA from Union County to extreme eastern Claiborne Parish. I doubt that the interest ends at the state line, so parts of the Corney watershed in Union County are probably still very much in play.
Thanks Obed!
Another question...Thinking about the old oil fields in and around Smackover, Norphlet, Lisbon, McNeil, and other communities north of hwy 82. If these shallow fields were caused from pressure pushing the oil up from below, would it stand to reason there is still oil below them in a shale formation? I know nothing about it so I am asking. There are some old wells up in Ouachita county around Camden also.
Respectfully, Roger
Anyone have any answers to Rogers questions ? I am also interested if anyone has any thoughts about if activity might include these areas in the future. I do know of land being leased by SWN near Mt. Holly.
Hi Hog_Ark, Skip, & everyone -
Most of our land is in Columbia Co. but we have 20 A in Union. Just this week I got a letter from a Little Rock firm called "Land Assessors" expressing an interest in buying land in Union. They had funds allocated to do so "for the next 30 days"... no pressure there!
I imagine this is a speculator, but wonder if anyone is familiar with the company and its actions?
