Skip, thanks for that, and for all the info you assemble and share on here.
One note, you might have omitted Sections 5 & 19 in 2N 1E, but I might be wrong. Those are two of the sections of the CMR/Foster Creek 8-5H wells. I believe, but I could be reading something wrong.
You're welcome, Ike. The data is from the MSO&GB Docket and the unit application for CMR/Foster Creek 8-5H only lists Sections 5 & 8. Thanks for pointing out the Section 5 was omitted. Is Section 19 shown as part of the unit on the plat?
I checked a different section of the database and the OPD (Original Permit to Drill) is now listed as cancelled.
It very well might be cancelled. The original permit was for a two section unit, 5 & 8, that was last year. In May GDP applied for a larger unit, under the same name and another well, the #2, and included Section 19 into the unit. It was approved on the May decisions, or at least that is the last I saw of it. Thus, the original two section unit went to three.
Do you think the newly approved unit has already been cancelled? How could we find that out? The number on the permits, from this May, is 148-2014-D, if that helps any.
Yes, that makes it quicker to look up. The GDP CMR/Foster Creek 8H replaces the CMR/Foster Creek 8-5H and was approved as Order No. 218-2014. Goodrich cancelled the original well permit and has not received a new permit to drill at this time.
Now, in the May decisions, I think they applied for that unit in April, it say "approved" and gives the order number as 218-2014.
By what you are seeing/saying is that unit still not permitted or have an approved permit?
There are well permits listed for the 8H #1 & #2. The confusion comes from changing the unit name from 8-5H to 8H. I've made the correction.
Whew....thanks Skip, you are a scholar and gentleman. I just got worried that this unit went by wayside. It was originally permitted about 11 or so months ago.
Hope I didn't stress you too much, Ike. :-) The list represents a lot of rock to drill but also demonstrates how much land has not been unitized. The play needs a lot more rigs.
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
