I was recently offered $175. and 1/5.  With no activity, this may be a decent offer. But with the expansion of the North LA exploration, I think I will hold back and wait for a better deal. I an NW of Williana about 8 miles.  Anybody else?

WITH MAJOR DRILLING COMPANIES MOVING TOWARD OIL RICH PLAYS I WOULD HOPE THAT WINN PARISH COULD SEE A BURST OFF DEVELOPMENT. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ CONCERING WINN PARISH MOST OF THE WELLS THAT HAVE BEEN DRILLED ARE FOR CONVENTIONAL PLAYS AND SHALLOW PRODUCTION.

I HAVE ALSO READ WHERE ALOT OF WINN PARISH HAS NOT BEEN STUDIED CAN SOME WITH KNOWLEDGE IN THE OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY RESPOND.

Joe, Not in the industry but agree with you on Winn Parish. When you look at the location of Winn in relationship to Desoto, Bienville, Lincoln, Jackson and other parishes southwest and southcentral of Winn, I would hope with the shift toward oil that Winn would start to get alot of attention. The two wells at Atlanta are averaging between 2000 and 3000 barrels of oil a month and not sure if that is full production or not. Hoping good things will be coming Winn's way.

If the companies can't make a deal then you can expect drilling to go elsewhere or they will drill on big timber companys. The Mooringsport may prove out somewhere in Winn but with the decline rate and volume of water being produced in the wells drilled, it looks like a risky investment to me. Devon may be drilling to keep the Edenborne property HBP. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see the next big play happen in Winn cause it's but a hop skip and jump up a senic highway from me. Just because Winn is in the geographic plane of other parishes doesn't mean that oil will be there.

I don`t know about Winn. I am pretty close to you in Caldwell. Am wondering if anyone knows ANYTHING about CALDWELL PARISH. Have had leases there that have expired about a year ago and not another word since.. Just wondering if it has potential for gas or oil. Thanks! Good luck in Winn!!

Joe, South Calvin field permitted today at 9300 feet. Keeping my hopes up. Glynn.

Chief, I think that is a decent offer. Winn Parish doesn't seem to be a hot spot. Whatever you do, make sure to include a vertical Pugh clause in your lease.
