Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |

My brother and I own some land in the Lillie area in Union Parish close to 167, but I am familar with Pisgah.
Debra…good hearing from you…just a thought.
My grandparents had productive wells drilled on their property in the late 40’s. They were capped later as they were deemed economically unproductive…not because they were not producing oil. They were shallow.
A few years ago we had a company out of Arkansas approach us w/re to trying to bring in these wells that had been capped for decades. We, me and my family, did so; however, I added to their lease that they had rights to produce no deeper than 3000’ as these original wells were around 2100 to 2300 feet deep. Everyone agreed to this.
We now have production on one older shallow well, with intentions to bringing in others, not much but a few barrels a day. The lease I am currently holding and the rest of my family signed off on, is for minerals below the 3000’ depth. SWN had no problem with shallow stuff. Don’t know your historical circumstance…just something to keep in mind. In my opinion every little bit is an addition!
Looking forward to talking to you again…this is a great site…every time I go here it’s like going back to school.
Talk to you later I’m sure.
Hey Ms. Gray...how are you doing? Good to hear from you.
Your offer is, in fact, what's out there. That has been my offer which all my family took except me. When you are offered a fraction you merely take a calculator and divide, in this case, 1 divided by 5 and you will get 20%.
I'm hoping this play takes off and the offers will increase. I am primarily interested in the royalty end of things; however, this is merely my decision. I know numerous people who have taken this and have gone to the bank grinning.
Anyway...if you continue to monitor this site you will receive a huge education ever time you open it. The people on here, my self excluded, are extraordinarily intelligent and extraordinarily open with answers and opinions.
Nuff of this...again welcome on board...let us be hearing from you...I’m sure we will be in contact at some point in the future.
