Good to hear from you, Ron. As you probably know, Southwestern is now drilling their first Brown Dense well, near Atlanta, Arkansas. Info on this Go Haynesville Shale site indicated that drilling started on the Atlanta well on Aug 28 so they should be pretty far along with it by now. They planned to do a lot of tests and science work on this well, though, so this may take some time.

I hear that they have already staked the location for the Claiborne Parish well, and that it is near the south border of section 7 T23N R5W, so it looks as if the horizontal leg of this well will go from south to north. I wouldn't expect them to actually start drilling the Claiborne Parish well, though, until they have completed the Atlanta well

I now live in Austin, TX, so I don't get back to Colquitt too often. My sister, Martha Harson, though, lives on the Odom homestead a little north of your property. I'm sure she and her husband John Harson would be happy to visit with you when you are in Colquitt. Also, do you ever hear anything from Elizabeth Greer Whaylen's children? Elizabeth was a first cousin of my mother on the Greer side, and also a first cousin of Palmer Barrow on the Barrow side. She and husband Lynn Whaylen had 3 children: Martha Lynn, Kathy, and Mark. I haven't heard from them in a long time, but I think they still own property adjacent to yours in Colquitt.

I would think that by the end of this year or early next year we will begin to get an idea of how successful this Brown Dense play will be. Good luck to us all!

Ron, I'm  glad to see that you have joined the new LSBD discussion group. I think you said your property  in Claiborne Parish is in sections 14 and 23  T23N R6W,  which would be about a mile south of my property. The new proposed horizontal well  by Southwestern Energy is about a mile east of my property so I hope it is a good one.

I'm assuming you are a descendant of Palmer Barrow. If so, you and I are probably not directly related, but we are related to some of the same people. I think Palmer Barrow was the son of Ed Barrow and Ruth Gaston. Ed was the step-son of Jefferson Davis Palmer, who was the brother of my great-grandmother Octavia Palmer Greer. Also, Ed's sister Ola married my Uncle Arthur Greer, son of Octavia Palmer Greer. I know that Palmer Barrow lived in or near Davis, CA. I also remember seeing Jack Musgrove a time or two in Colquitt. I think he was the husband of Palmer Barrow's sister Ruth. Do you ever visit Colquitt, LA?
