I would sit back and wait. I know for a fact they are leasing right now in Claiborne Parish. They tell people things like that to get them to panic and sign.

I bet they signed with Continental Resources. This might be who Chesapeake will enter a joint partnership once CR stops acquireing acreage in the area. I have confirmed at the corporate office that Louisiana Oil Group is acquiring acreage for Continental Resources. One never knows what is going to be announced...but what I do know is that CR is heavily leasing in Claiborne Parish and have been since May 20, 2008. I like the fact that CR is leasing hard via Louisiana Oil Group, LLC but my gut says CHK may jump in with them. Strictly my opinion.

Petrohawk is working under the name of KCS in Lincoln Parish, Over 130 producing natural gas wells which are under the name KCS. KCS was bought out by Petrohawk in 2006. They are not going anywhere. CHK is acquiring acreage by some unknown company and will be here shortly...I just haven't figured it out yet. That is my opinion.

What companies are saying they are pulling out? I would be curious to know the names of those companies.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
