Who is telling you to pay a lawyer $500 per acre and who is the attorney?

The only way an atty. should get anything is if you hired them to negotiate the lease. I am curious to know if a landman approached you directly. If so, everything should be between you and the landman.

(Not just bonus, but surface rights/damage, pipeline, costs of production, saltwater issues, timeframe for drilling). I'm not asking to represent you, just to talk and share information.
