I'm guessing it's a pre-conference meeting notification for a HA Drilling & Production Unit application. If no interested party requests this pre-conference meeting, Encana will not hold the meeting referenced in your letter and will schedule a Commissioner's hearing in Baton Rouge. By statute Encana must include on the interested party list all land/mineral owners of record in the section covering by the unit application and all others outside of the affected section but within 1000' of the section line. Therefore some receiving this letter are not within the bounds of the section to be unitized. However, any interested party may request the pre-conference hearing. It is always an encouraging development for a capable operator to apply for a drilling unit. They normally do not do so unless they have plans to develop the unit(s) in the near future. What sections/townships are covered by this letter?

I am unaware of any Haynesville Shale related activity in your immediate location. However, you are not too far from some very perspective shale areas. When the economics of the play improve and step-out drilling begins, some activity should move in your direction. I would not be surprised if your area is within the shale. As you are not in a defined field, there is no information on SONRIS. Have patience. Good Luck.
