First drinking water, now earthquakes? Truly becoming a "nuisance" for all seasons. Fracking may need an image makeover before this is all done. Maybe a new & younger woman by its side.

"At issue is a drilling practice called "fracking," in which water is injected into the ground at high pressure to fracture the layers of shale and release natural gas trapped in the rock. There is no consensus among scientists about whether the practice is contributing to the quakes. But such seismic activity was once rare in Texas and seems to be increasing lately, lending support to the theory that drilling is having a destabilizing effect."

As a former Geologist, (Appointed head of the GHS Geology Department for about a week) maybe the Earth is devolving.:-)

Unfortunately, the eco party lines will make this a very difficult issue to prove. Even with overwhelming evidence, sometimes a stance becomes more important than actuality. From both sides.

From my ecological side....If a "rubbing" of the tectonic plates can cause a tsunami or quake, if you will, this high pressure fracking activity cant be great for the fault lines in this part of the country. In regards to water, disposal concerns me much more then fracking.

From my spiritual side....Electrodynamics is spot on. Its gonna get real ugly before it gets better, for believers,IMO.

My understnding (which isn't always spot on) is that earthquakes result from the tectonic plates shifting. Are there instances of earthquakes occuring from formations expanding and/or collapsing? I've heard of vibrations from seismic shoots being felt.

I'd like to comment ... okay, serious face here... '"It's better than a poke in the eye.' he said"
