question between sections and units

does the section # of the well name mean the same thing as the unit? and if so do all owners in a paticular section, such as section 33, split the royalties from that production section?

John, Most Haynesville Shale units are created along section lines. However, as with most things in the world, there are exceptions. These exceptions often occur near state lines or waterways (e.g., near Toledo Bend there are some sections larger than 640 acres). If your production unit is defined ot be the same as a particular section, then yes, all owners in teh section will split royalties according to their share of ownership. If you post your Section/Township/Range, maybe we can check to see if your unit is formed along section lines.
