Shelby County Mineral Rights Heir Newby

We have the mineral rights to two surveys (Joel White Survey A-773 and Lewis Watkins Survey A-808, but don't know much about what's been going on with them? How do you find out? We were recently approached to sell these rights? What does that mean and what kind of money does this type of thing bring?
