Hi Jay you seem to be the expert on this subject.
I have property in Shreveport and Haughton in Bossier. Neither one has a lease on it at the moment because of the fear of being taken advantage of. Can you share with me if they are still leasing in these areas, if so what are the best companies to deal with.

Will, almost no one reads blogs. If you wish to ask a question of Jay go to his personal page (just click on his name in a discussion) and post your question directly to him. There is nothing going on in the Haughton area. Shreveport depends on specific location. However please be fore warned that the only energy company likely to be interested in your minerals is the one that has already established themselves as the primary operator in that area. The days of energy companies competing for acreage in the core areas of the Haynesville Shale are long over. These companies are interested in operating (drilling wells), not buying leases in some other company's area of operation. In other words, excepting quite rare circumstances you don't get to choose who you lease to.
