I have a section available for leasing right next to your friends in 16N8W 22 and JW Operating just told me they were not leasing around this area now. Empressa said that they were not leasing either but if your friend received an offer, they must be. Interesting how Empressa would be making an offer on section 20 and not 22. We shall see.
We really don't know that answer. We are attending a meeting next week with Will Drill and we'll hopefully know more then. We have done lots of research but, still have lots of questions. One being, if they drill, we want to be compensated for all the trees that are taken down. Again, we really haven't found a lot of answers to the "forced" drilling. We are in R8W - T6N #35. And, who knows why some people are approached and some aren't. The landowners that are right next to us signed with Chesapeake back in September '08. Who knows??
We have land in Bienville Parish but we already have wells all over our land. They are drilling a horizontal on our property along with a verticle well in the same section.

Our land that is not leased is in Sugar Creek 255 acres. Petrohawk has been drilling near there for over 3 years in Terryville field....so we are just waiting to sign until the right offer comes along.
They will come around soon and offer the right amount...we just have to be patient.
Maybe he was just seeing what type of reaction he could get. He never confirmed my email and never contacted me. I don't put much stock into those types of posts. But just for the heck of it I sent our information. You see where it got me...nowhere city!
You started a thread awhile back, and the question was asked "what is the difference between wells producing on a lease basis and wells producing on a unit basis?" I don't think we ever got an answer, did we?
For some reason the "Interested in Leasing" discussion in the Bienville Parish group has completely been erased. Did you get a chance to see if Mr. Smith replied to me or not? Did he reply to you?
Landowner, I spoke to one of the guys working ahead of the crews today, he was from Canada org. now lives in Columbia. He stated that the o/g people are very excited about the shoot in this area. I have only just begun to learn about the industry tho I have been watching it here in nw La for 3 years now. I stay on the road 5-6 days a week, and I get to see alot of the 10 parishes in n/w La. I would love to see people in our area cash in on the shale play also. The last I heard on the shale line was that they are waiting for the results of the shoot , and they predict the lines will be moved east by a massive amount. I am not informed enough to head up any groop, but I do know one thing if someone dosen't start saying something soon we will be left to the wolves and be forced to go it alone. We have so many old school country people around this part of the country that it will be business as usually if we don't get started! Mabe you con help by putting up a flyer or something at a store or something stateing that we need to come togeather and if nothing else talk about what is going on, and give out this web site and hope it takes off, I have only seen one or two people on here from the Saline area, I don't think many people know about this site. Lets keep in touch and start spreading the word and see where it goes.

I'm talking with KCS Resources which is Petrohawk I believe. Just not getting that warm and fuzzy feeling about this transaction. I have a call into our attorney in Shreveport who works in the oil and gas industry to get his input.
they have already finished laying the lines and filling the holes another crew is due to come through before the end of the month and do the blasting or whatever it is called. They said we'd know they were there because of the helicopters and such. So, you need to be keeping a look out your way!!!!
Seismic, well this is what i've been told the crews will be on my property this week. I live out of state but my uncle lives on property joining mine so he will give me the update once he sees them working. I'll definitely keep you posted. We had 2D shoots done back in the 80's and I was told they know that oil/gas is there the 3D shoot will just give them a better indication and because even with the depths it is economically profitable to produce than it was back in the 80's of course.
The HS Locator map came from the Shale to Shining Shale report by Deutsch (sp?) Bank. A link to the complete report is in the "Hayensville do I hear 50,000.?" thread. It's a must read analysis of over a dozen shale plays in the US, featuring our very own HS. My jaw kept dropping everytime statistics and projections for the HS were mentioned.
Landowner Bn2: this is the newest information i got from the seismic company working on my land....
just as a follow up on the seismic front in Natch Parish. I heard from my seismic company today and this is what they told me.....
We are currently surveying and drilling in that area, and throughout that township (which is 12). Our current plan is that recording crews will be there between October 1st and November 30th, depending upon how fast they proceed.
So, that is the lates time frame i was able to obtain through the company doing work in my area....
