You can't take off for cloths unless they are things he COULDN'T wear anywhere else (not wouldn't want to but couldn't, as is against company rules). You can take off safety boots if they are required wear. Meals are only if he is out of town overnight unless it is a business function. So if he has to stop and get lunch on the road, no, but if he takes a client to dinner yes.
As for other expenses, I would recommend that you download the small business book from the IRS website, link below. There are a ton of things he can take off. This is assuming he is self employed or paid on a 1099MISC. If he is paid on a W2 and has business expenses download the employee business expense book, link below.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.
Hey Shelley. Mrs bobbitt is about the same. Sometimes she knows us and sometimes she doesn't. We are going back to see her this weekend. Thanks for asking. Have a good day.
Shelly, The prices Cheerleader is quoting are actual bonus amounts paid LAST SUMMER. Devon Energy came in with an initial offer of 5000/acre, same as in SA Co., knocking all of the small independents out of the game for the remainder of the year.
17K was paid for a large lease (upwards of 3000 acres) in the upper end of Sabine but I think that it had a longer than normal primary term.
It's just hard to tell what the O&G comanies are going to do right now. I think they are looking for a sign that the economy is going to pick up. Until then they are going to move very cautiously. Janelles mother is still in twin lakes. She had a set back last week and spent a couple of days in the SA Hospital. She pulled thru and is now back at twin lakes. We will probably go see her next weekend. Thanks for asking. Let's hope things pick up soon in SA.....
I hear all will be quiet in Sabine County until the market turns for gas but that leasing will still be going on slowly on San Augustine County. How slowly, only the companies themselves know for sure. My concern will be how do they get to all that acreage if they wait another year to move forward? Does that mean the O & G's will try to renegotiate down instead of exercising options on leases at the original lease rate?
Yeah I am trying to figure out what is going on in SA too. The last time I was there about a week ago Encana, Devon and Crimson for sure still had an office there. Would be nice to know when they are going to continue leasing. Hopefully soon...but they are probably waiting for the economy to get turned around...we could be in for a wait.. take care...keep us informed when you can..
Shelly, Crimson moved out of Sabine Co. back before Thanksgiving. Must have budget woes... It's a new year and everything is in flux. Don't expect much until after the new Prez. gets sworn in. The financial picture is pretty ugly right now. It may take awhile for things to get sorted out. I expect most of the O&Gs are working on a much constrained budget for the 1st Qtr.
Hey Shelly. I haven't heard a thing since the well permit up by Patroon. I meant to go to Hemphill this week to see what's shakin' with the O&Gs but it didn't happen. I'll put it on the top of the list for next week. JF
Hey Shelley. Janelles mom is about the same. Thanks for asking. We were there during the week last week. Things are still pretty busy in town. Lot of companies still in town. Hoping things will pick up by the end of the month. Take care and let me know if you hear anything.
Hey Shelley. Glad to hear your Dad is doing good. I know he was glad to get out of twin lakes. Mrs. Bobbitt is still in twin lakes. She has not been responding very well. We are hoping the rehab will do her some good. We will just have to wait and see. They seem to be taking real good care of her there. Not long till the first of the year. Looking for things to pick up in SA. Thanks for asking about Mrs. Bobbitt. You take care.
