AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. I incorrectly referred in my initial comment to the late 1900's when I should have stated the late 1800's. Our interests come from my Mother's family (Lee/McCrery/Fargeson), not the Wilson lineage. Sitting back & waiting is likely not in your best interest. DeSoto Parish, as I understand it, has been largely leased and "unitized". Chesapeake, Petrohawk, BEUSA (Bridas) and El Paso are major players. BEUSA has "control" of our unit. Surely, there are exceptions, non-unitized sections. We were not approached by BEUSA. We are unleased. We have the option not to lease and to maintain some form of our "working interest" status. We have hired an attorney. Although an attorney, I am not an oil & gas or real estate lawyer.
the current "hoorah" jetted off into space. Fortunately for me, my brother and two aunts, we were not prospected by BEUSA before the unit was certified and commencement of drilling (Cotton Valley). No HS wells have yet been drilled. Our core group has 38 acres. We remain unleased.
