Hi Freddie Mac,
I think I may can get you a map from the court house in Coushatta. I know most everyone there in the clerks office, so if they have one, I know I can get you a copy.
I will check on that in the morning.

Property in Desoto Parish

i am very interested in any help I may can get concerning some land in DeSoto Parish called

Gay Island. It is now owned by a Bethard as I've been told, but was purchased by my grandmother in 1912. My uncle always told me that Gay Island belonged to our family, but the court house had burned and he wasn't ever able to provide enough proof. His mother was Roxie Gay and she purchased Gay Island around 1912.

Anyone who might could give me some insight on this, I would appreciate… Continue

Well in Red River Parish

Does anyone know anything about the well they are preparing to put in RRP, T 14N-R9W-SEC30 ?
I see it looks like they have the pad built ?, not sure about all the terminology used----just wondering if anyone knows if they are planning on completing the well while onsite or if they will come back later to drill?
Thanks,
Trisha

Trisha, just on your site from Central Mexico. I knew your mother Virginia and father J.J. very well. Went to church at Social Springs. Your grandmother (Mrs. Marie) was my Sunday school teacher.
Do you remember the McWilliams family Neil, Lois, Barbara and John??
Would like to know someone closer in the area who could let me know what is going on there. I have not been there in years and we really got taken on our original lease. Hope to hear from you soon.

Trisha, I don't think there is too much to be concerned about. Sometimes during maintenance on surface or well equipment some gas may be flared. My apologies for not a comment earlier.

Trisha, you don't sound greedy at all and yes it definitely brings some excitement to Red River Parish. I am just glad to see Northwest Louisiana get a few breaks as the people really deserve it.

Trisha, the NYMEX (Henry Hub) price for July was $3.95/MMBtu. I believe that would translate to a gas price in your area of ~ $3.70 per Mcf (thousand cubic feet). A gas rate of 20 MMcfd (million cubic feet per day) would generate a revenue of $115.63 per day for each acre in the unit. Assuming a royalty rate of 20% this would produce royalty payments of ~ $23 per day for each acre.

Just note the well rate will begin to decline immediately so is unlikely to average 20 MMcfd for more than a week.

I hope I did the math right.

Trisha, I justwanted to let you know Samson has completed the Wood 30 #H1 Well and it is waiting on a pipeline. I have not seen any flow test information for the well.

Trish,
Yes, put the question (s) to Fox on his page. He doesn't check it that often but be sure to tell him that LanadanDs3 sent you. Again, if ANYBODY knows this info -- he does. Keep me abreast on my page.
Lots of luck.

Thanks so much for your information. Sounds more promising than anything I've been told!!
I don't know any Giddens from close to Clarence, but I will ask my husband. His dad died when he was only 10 ( Jake ( J.J.) Giddens and we honestly don't know alot of his relatives on his Dad's side. Most of them that we know lived in Castor or Shreveport.
Okay, so as you can tell I don't know what I'm doing--- I just go to the DeSoto group and ask the question specifically to FOX? Is this correct?
It shows Gay Island on an abstract that was given to my brother-in-law from one of the landmen from Samson.
We may be spinning our wheels, but my Uncle was always so adamant that it was our land. Who knows, but hopefully your friend can HELP.
Thanks Again and I will let you know what I find out.

Trisha,

I have lived in DeSoto off and on since 1954. Never heard of "Gay Island", but then again, I don't claim to know everything.

However, there is ONE, and ONLY ONE person on this site I would send you to for this info. Check in with FOX (See DeSoto Parish group).

If there is ANYONE who can help you, then FOX can. I assure you, no -- I GUARATEE it, that HE IS IN A POSITION TO KNOW THESE THINGS ! !

Besides that, FOX is the kind of person who will go out of his way to help folks. (If you can't get thru -- just let me know, and I'll get a "switch" off'n the ole' peach tree out back and go after him ! LOL

Let me know how you come out.

Lanadan Ds3

P.S.-- Ya'll any relation to the Giddens who lived at the Saline Bayou bridge on Hwy 71 just below Clarence ? Just curious.

Hey Trisha,

Did you know someone by the name of Marty who was a home health nurse in RR parish back about 15-20 years ago? Lived out on Hwy 783.
