I understand that leasing and re-leasing activity has started again in the Northwest part of the parish. Can anyone tell me exactly the area and what is the offer.

Ajax area, $5000.00 an acre offered by Petrohawk in Oct. 2009
I spoke with the Petrohawk office in Shreveport 318-425-6362 and was told that Petrohawk's leasing activity presently stopped at the edge of T10N R10W Natchitoches Parish. I was allowed to leave pertinent leasing information for a group of us in 10-10.
Where exactly in NW Natch. Parish are these offers being made? I beleive the major Oil and Gas comapnies are in a holding pattern at this time as for aquiring more area for drilling (exception is Sabine Parish). They are up against the wall on getting there present lease holdings drilled to hold them. They are not drilling verticle and holding leases anymore because the cost of doing that and later bringing back in a horizontal rig is to expensive and takes too much time. Exco last month announced that they are now drilling and completing wells in 37 days. I know Chasapeake has been harping on this for the last year and I am sure the other companies are doing the same! I understand that they also have about another year of major pipeline infrastucture work to do in DeSota, Red River and Sabine Parishes before they have it under control. I think we in the NW part of Natchitoches Parish are in a temporary holding pattern maybe for the next 12 to 18 months. Hopefully then the companies will move our direction and try there luck. A good well to track for us is the well just North of Martin (#239794) if this well comes in hot we may have a chance to speed up this process.
Is that the Martin in Red River Parish?
Yes
It is now getting close to the end of many Chesapeake leases in the Northwest portion of Natchitoches Parish and I have not heard a word regarding anyone wanting to release. My lease expires in Chestnut the end of the month and I am assuming that the formation is moving in a more southernly direction in Red River Parish. I am now assuming that the siesmic that was done last year did not go in our favor. Does anyone have any information regarding leasing opportunities in the Chestnut-Goldona area?
I recieved a letter today stating SAMSON CONTOUR ENERGY has applied to create 2 additional drilling and production units in Sec. 8 T 10W- R 10N -also SEC 5-10-10 AND sEC18-10-10 ALL IN NATCHITOCHES PARISH
rhedle. The plats that accompany unit apps can be a little confusing. If the first page of the application states "2 additional D&P units", there shouldn't be 3 sections (normally). There should probably be 2. Please refer back to the first page and make note of the Sand Units (ie., HA RA SUB or something like that) and then match up the Sand Units with the sections on the plat. If you can't scan and upload the notice letter, please post the Sand Units by Section. The rest of the application is basically boiler plate language.

Yes, it does. Thank you.
I am really tracking the North part of the parish. Good luck! What did this area lease for and how long ago did it happen?
I received a letter from Samson for the Chemard Lake area yesterday as well. They are for 11/11/11, 19/11/10. Almost half of 19 sits in Natchicotches Parish and 11 is not far.

Also, have been told that a company (i think Encana/Swepi) was putting in a pipeline and it will run from Oxford, through Pleasant Hill, through Ajax to the Messenger place or around the Messenger place. They are looking at putting a compressor station somewhere around Ajax.
