Weren't the Russians strong believers in Lenticular oil? They had a therory that oil was migrating into very old oil fields wells that were considered "pumped-out".

If there's such a rig shortage getting the main Haynesville shale area drilled, why would someone be leasing in Claiborne parish if there's not "something going on" there?



Mac,

There is not a rig shotage anymore. There are a lot of smaller rigs that can't drill HA wells as well. The rest of us still have to drill wells. We can't compete with HA lease prices (if you can even find a conventional prospect that is not leased).

Nothing to be suspicous about.

Would there be any reason to drill wells with laterals in the Homer area?

It's not immediately clear to me what the difference is between CV and HS in terms of production.

Do you need to frac a CV well?

Mac,
It appears to me that most (or all) CV wells are fraced now. Many years ago CV and other sands were produced without fracs. But those sands with that great perm and porosity seem to have been tapped now. Now they have to struggle to get the gas out of the tight sands.
