I just received a pre-application notice to "create one additional drilling and production unit in (Section 36 R12W-R11W-T11N). Is this my formal unit notification? How soon do they usually drill after this?

I received an application letter for Encana in the Trenton Field - JUR RA SUF APO 1199-C (R 13 W, R 12 W), looks like section 30 on the map they sent. Any activity going on there? The hearing was set on November 17th.
Linda,
This application was for Sec 30 of 11N, 12W. No permit to drill has been filed so far.
Skip has given you good information.

However, you speak of a "pre-application notice". Does your notice state that "a conference will be held"? If so, the normal procedure is for the conference to be held, then a hearing date will be set. Depending on whether anyone attends the conference: a) if nobody requests or attends the pre-application conference, the hearing date may be set as soon as possible; b) if anyone formally requests the pre-application hearing conference, then the conference must be held, and the hearing date must be at least 30 days after the conference.

Oil companies can and do begin drilling activities on the day of the hearing. However, they are not obliged to, and may wait months (or even years) after the hearing and the application is approved.
Crunchy. Spudding a well interrupts prescription of a mineral servitude. It does not maintain a lease. I know the difference can be confusing for a lot of the members. Only production maintains a lease.
The clock is ticking then. Thanks.
My husband is reading me a letter over the phone we got today from attorneys representing Petrohawk. This is on Grogans Field, Sections: 12, 13, 14, 22, 23 and 24.
Ouiser -- Township and Range??? Thanks.
I'll have to check. I don't have the letter in front of me. Ours is 14 (WH Blair estate)
I'm bettin' 10N - 10W.
Skip, Me to.
Well guys I'm sorry but I need a lawyer to read the dang thing! The Map they attached though shows Grogan Field and part is "existing/pending Haynesville Sand Units and the other part "proposed Haynesville Zone, Reservoir A Sand Unit Z.
They are all Grogan field and at the top right of the map it has R 11 W - down the righ it says T 10 N. The parts marked I'm assuming sections since they all say 640 + acres are:
from left to right:
10, 11 and 12
15, 14, and 13
22, 23 and 24
Ok in very SMALL letter on the side that only a young person can read it says"
