Natural Gas Emission Specialist new to this GREAT SHALE!

Since you guys are the professionals, what would you recommend as the smartest way for me to locate ALL of the compressor stations and most of the regulated packages in Texas (Haynesville)?
Or, what do you project to be the hottest transmission routes over the next year, and who are they?
I sell catalytic converters, AFRC's, catalysts, SCR, etc., to mostly midstream operators. I know there is another way besides buying a $800.00 map that's already outdated!

They have an inexpensive database. You can buy different sections in La. (there are 6 zones) The NW La. zone is about $39 for a year. They are accurate as to locations, phone, etc...contacts may change a little. I keep a yearly subscription to several LA. & Tx. zones.
Sounds like you're after the transmission market now. I'd watch all the oil & gas info and magazine sites for new pipeline announcements and try to dig out what company is doing the front end design. You can find existing permits at TCEQ website (http://www.tceq.state.tx.us/permitting/air/nav/air_status_permits.html) , but that doesn't do you much good once they are designed and being permitted, unless you're looking for aftermarket sales.

Your midstream contacts might be the best way to get into the transmission side. We do EHS work for some midstream companies and find it to be a constantly changing cast with assets being sold and swapped pretty frequently.
SALES ??? - WITH TERROR THREATS , WE ALL HAVE TALL FENCES AND ELECTRIC GATES NOW !!!!! YOUR ONLY CONNECTIONS WOULD BE BY PHONE AND COMPUTER TO MAIN OFFICE !!! THEN TRY TO WADE THRU AUTOMATED PHONE MAZE !! MOST LARGER COMPANIES NOW HAVE WHAT IS CALLED WAREHOUSE PARTS PROCUREMENT , SO ALL PURCHASES FROM TOILET PAPER TO CATALYST IS DONE THRU THE "WAREHOUSE" SO ALWAYS INQUIRE IF PROCUREMENT IS THROUGH A WAREHOUSE !!! --- REGARDS
Excellent advice, haven't had any problem getting thru the electric gates, I'm just trying to map the most efficient route to personally meet plant supervisors. Thanks for the "warehouse" tip! Just got the "Haynesville" movie, and plan to share it with the guys in the field - can't wait!
Catwoman, the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ) should have a listing of all regulated facilties by county on their website. Check the counties in East Texas and look for pipeline operators.

For interstate pipeline companies (Tennessee, Texas Eastern, Gulf South, Centerpoint, ANR, etc), check their information posting websites for pipeline maps under the tariff section that would show compressor stations.

For Texas intrastate pipelines (Enbridge, Kinder Morgan, Crosstex, Energy Transfer, etc), you may just have contact them directly.

I hope that helps.
Thanks Les! I use this site ALOT, but still can't find the link you refer to. do you mean the "Public Notices" tab on the TCEQ site or the specific company's website? Need exactly what you said: maps under the tariff section that would show compressor stations.
Do pipeline operators belong to a Union of any kind?
I WONDER IF YOU REALIZE NEARLY 50 % OF THE COMPRESSOR STATIONS ARE AUTOMATED !! ( UNMANED ) NO PERSONEL ON SITE UNLESS RESPONDING TO ALARMS OR SHUTDOWNS ??? YOU COULD WASTE A LOT OF TIME AND FUEL LOOKING AT COMPRESSOR STATIONS WHERE THERE ARE NO PEOPLE !!! ( FEW TO NO UNIONS IN AREA ) NOW IF YOU ARE MARKETING HYDROGEN SULFIDE EQUIPMENT , YOU WILL HAVE TO CHANGE COURSE SLIGHTLY AND ROAM THE WOODS LOOKING FOR PRODUCTION STUFF THAT IS NOT EVEN BUILT YET , MUCH LESS ON ANY MAPS !!! REGARDS
