Thanks Skip, we are sitting on this area as well as two tracts in Bienville. 15N 8W S23 and 16N 8W S22. I usually check Sonris 2x a week and the Louisiana Conservation hearings page. But you can always learn so much from people like yourself that deal with this daily.
Lynn. Download two blank township grids. Then shade in the appropriate sections as follows: 15N - 8W - Haynesville Drilling & Production Units - Sections 6,7,29-32 to Will Drill and Sections 5,18,19 to J-W Operating. 16N - 8W - Sections 29,32,33 to J-W Operating. Next perform a SONRIS Lite search for "Wells By Section - Township - Range". Do Not Enter anything in the Section blank. Do enter the appropriate Township and Range. You will see a list of all wells starting with Section 1 and running through 36 (if wells are present). The last several entries in each section are the newest and where you will find any HS wells. They will stand out as significantly deeper than all the other wells listed. Since you are on the periphery of current activity, you should consider tracking some adjacent townships. I suggest 15N - 9W (which is fully unitized) and 16N - 9W (which has 35 units). 2010 will see development activity moving into your townships. You should be informed and prepared when you are contacted by a potential lessee. Good Luck.
Thank you very much for your advice Skip. I will do as you suggested and start doing my homework. I do follow your posts and recommendations....you are very kind to provide such wonderful information for us to refer to.
