Heyyy!   I just found your attached map.  Just what I needed. Thanks for posting it.  Shows J Rowe A  585 survey pretty close to L T Wilburn A 775 (spelled Wilbourn on map (?) )  Lotta wells in that vicinity.
NOT A QUICK AND SIMPLE TASK.

JUDY RUSHING HAS GIVEN NUMEROUS LEASES IN SHELBY TO DIFFERENT COMPANIES IN THE PAST FEW YEARS..YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO GET SOMEONE TO CHECK ON THE TITLE. I CAN NOT DOWNLOAD ALL OF THE LEASES AND ASSIGNMENTS. I DID A QUICK CHECK ON BONEHILL..COULD NOT TELL WHAT THEY HAVE MINERALS IN..SORRY
Cindy: A summary of oil & gas leases and memorandum of leases from the county clerk's records do not indicate any leases granted by Judy Bridges Rushing in Abstract 784. As mentioned above there have been numerous leases (17) granted in the last few years on numerous other tracts by your mother.

Thank you daddy bill
Is there anyway i can go to the court house and get copies of the 17 leases my mother granted?
and is there anyway i can find out if there has been ANY drilling on the leases she already did?
My mother passed away on 11-11-09 and my sister and I are trying to figure out all this stuff.

Cindy
My experiance is that the folks working at the County Clerk's office in Shelby Co can be quite helpful. If you are in the area, I suggest you go to the clerk's and they can help you track down all of the pertinent documents regarding your mother's leases.

They also have pretty good records available online at:

http://cc.co.shelby.tx.us/RealEstate/ListOfParties.aspx

Plug in the appropriate family/surname in the search field and then click onto the proper contact and the documents that they have online will come up.

Be sure and check for alternate spellings, abreviations, etc, as sometimes the documents have not been filed with the full names.

I.E.

a. Rushsing, Judy
b. Rushing, Judith
c. Rushing, JB
d. Rushing, Judy Bridges
etc....

The online records only go back until around 1983, so for deeper searches you will need to make a visit to Center, Texas.

I also suggest that you check records on your grandparents names as well and that you and your sister should probably file an affidavit of heirship that states your mothers name and family tree info so that you and your sister can be found properly when any of the O&G company's end up looking for heirs to your family's holdings.

Good luck.
Thank you very much
I live in Center Tx so i can go the clerks office on Monday.
I also did a search on the link you gave me and OH my goodness at the stuff i found in my mother;s name and my grandparents name.. lots and lots to read.
Thank you again

Cindy: I am glad I delayed answering you as D. Garr did a much better job of explaining how to locate the information from the Clerk's website than I ever could. I am an old petroleum engineer and not a land man, knowing just enough about searching records to be dangerous. I would only add to be sure to search "Memorandum of Oil and Gas" also as these were filed in lieu of the actual lease in some cases. I very seldom post on this forum but my wife graduated with, and was a friend of your mother, and thought I might be a little help. Good luck with your search.

Thank you for your reply, and thank you for letting me know that your wife knew my momma.
It is always so nice to hear from someone that knew my momma. She sure is missed here by all of her family.
Did your wife know my daddy to? He passed away a month and a day after my momma passed away,
sifting through all of this is overwhelming some, but interesting to find and learn.
Thank you again

Can you tell me where to look to find out if a well has been drilled on a particular lease of land if i have the survey name and the A number? This is a different lease i am looking into.
Please let me know
Thanks
Cindy
Cindy Lou,

I am a bit confused. Was your mother's will/estate probated yet. If so, it would clearly state and divide who her estate is assigning minerals to. Has an affidavit of heirship been filed? I suggest since you haVE THE 17 leases that you have mentioned, that you call the division order and royalty departments of the companies that leased your mother's minerals.
She needs a lawyer and if it really is tangled up with BoneHill Foundation it better be a good one.
