I have no idea about rates, but I do know that some of the gas leases made a few years ago had exclusive seismic leasing rights included in the lease. Better check your lease and talk to the leasing company before signing with a seismic company.
Thanks for the info. Actually there is no issue with leases as this is a surface rights or land owner issue alone. They have to pay, but if a person is a landowner and has signed a lease with a clause in which you've desctibed, it's possible they have the right to pay nothing and that would be a terrible contract. I haven't heard of this around here.
$25 an acre seems to be the going rate in the LA HA area. Paid upon contract signing.
have they told you who (What oil & gas company) they are doing the seismic shoot for? most companies first offer is $15 but will pay $25 acre in the Nacogdoches--San Augustine--Shelby area you are in
It was $25.00 an acre on our property as well (Desoto Parish)
Thanks, the info from you all is helpful and it is in Nac. county. The offer is 15.00 but negotiable so I figure your 25.00 is correct and maximum. Thanks!
We are in Sabine Parish. We were told that $15 was the normal amount. An additional $10 is paid for normal damages, such as tire tracks, but no ruts. Later, after the testing was done, they would pay for any actual damages, such as if there were ruts or tree damage, etc. So the check would be for $25 an acre.
