I got a letter from Seitel Data offering $15 an acre to do a seismographic survey.  Is this the going rate for something like this?  thanks, Kevin

From what I have read here 25 bucks per is more like it. It's not much money but it does show that there is interest in your geology and could spur things forward. In other words it may be a good idea to let them. AIMO
Kevin: what abstract/survey is the seismic request being made iv?

thanks
That's pretty far south, Kevin... Bronson area and west toward county line. Do you know if they are working for an operator or what?
I haven't talked to them yet... I plan on calling them one day soon.. Any suggestions on questions I should ask?
There is a good discussion in the Nacogdoches group that might give you some idea what to ask:

In this group, om28v can tell you a lot more than most would be able to, I suspect.
Thanks for the link...
That area has pipeline infrastructure, but it very south of most activity. We have seen them follow pipelines in place and it would be great if they entered sabine from this area. There is seismic advice all over this other boards on here, just do a search. This is good news I believe.
I thought it was good news, too. I know Encana and maybe some others were leasing along the county line in '08. I just wondered if Seitel was doing a survey for Encana?
Kevin
Yes that is about right on the price, I let Seitel Data do seismic survey on my property last year and I think I got $25.00 a Acre for mine, I never heard anything back from them. I live in Shelby County but own minerals in sabine and san augustine counties to as well as shelby county
Which survey in Sabine?
John McAdams Survey A-159.
Are you from Shelby County?
that is the one i signed today
