Does anyone know what the status is of the Coalition of neighborhood associations? Is there going to be a deal?

If you're referring to Shreve Centre Coalition, our board announced last Mon. (09.15) that the Non Binding letters are due from the Associations by sometime in October. I haven't looked at the SCC website lately, you might find more there. Which neighborhood are you in?
I'm in Broadmoor and turned in my non-binding to that neighborhood association. However, I work with someone whose husband is in the oil business and he said the leasing is complete because they all have enough to move forward without spending anymore money. Have you heard any such thing?

Thank you for your response.

Hello Kathleen, When they say that they can move forward without spending anymore money , that isn't exactly true. By not leasing they will spend a huge chunk of their would be profits to the unleased. If they decide to move on and drill , then by all means move on and drill. You will not be out any money and instead of paying you 25% , they will be paying you 100% of your part of the revenues after expenses.Even tho you wouldn't get an upfront bonus, you could be better off in the long run.
I believe that may be a speculative rumor started by ??????????, not sure. They may have enough leased FOR NOW, there's a lot of factors involved. Not enough equipment to drill it all right now, not enough pipeline yet. My personal opinion is, if any of this is true, that leasing may be temporarily on hold. Remember, Barnett Shale landowners are still leasing 30 or so years after it's discovery. Anyone else want to weigh in?
Thank you, ses and snake. One of the reasons I like this website is that I can get an answer to rumor and speculation.
Negotiations will begin later this year. The deadline to sign up for the coalition is Sep. 30, so until that passes, there'll be no real action.
I just read where the coalition has suggested that land owners should not sign any leases at this time. Anyone know what the reasoning is?
