Faye,

Samson Contour has formed a unit for Sec 36, T12N, R11W. No drilling permit has been filed.

If you mean Sec 36 of T11N, R12W, then Petrohawk has formed a unit there. They have also filed a permit to drill a well that drains that section. The surface of the well will be in Section 25, but it will drain Sec 36. I don't think drilling has begun.

Hope this helps.
That's it! Will I receive notification of a permit to drill directly from them?
no
Faye,
There are several ways to monitor progress on your well. One way is to ask those who live in the area to let you know when the rig comes on site. Another way is to ask on this web site, as you did. You can also follow the "Drilling Rig Locations" Group on this site.

Another ways are to go to Louisiana's database of wells, called sonris, at www.sonris.com. Use the sonris lite option, and call up "Wells by Section, Township, and Range." The sonris reports will lag the actual well progress.

Finally, you can watch the rigs at the Baker-Hughes web site. http://gis.bakerhughesdirect.com/RigCounts/default2.aspx This site shows a map with all the rigs.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
