On the well that is located on the west side of Hwy. 1, I see Matador has done more ground work (another road) and has a couple of cranes over where the rig was. Does anyone know what they are getting ready to do there?

I would imagine going Horizontal or setting Tanks........ I seen also.
I can not tell how far the new road (which veers to the south from old road) goes back. I was wondering if they might be getting ready to bring in another rig. Going horizontal would be great - I would love to see what the production numbers look like on a horizontal well that far north!

They set 7" pipe on all the wells up there so far. Doesn't that mean they are definitely going horizontal? Has anyone heard if they hit pay on the lanier? Is there a rig on the lona johnson? I see there is a permit on 538 down from the ccmp well.
My best friends dad is a company man at Pioneer, he says all of those wells aregonna be drilled out horizontal. They are just holding leases now.
how long does it take to drill horizontal?
It looks like another rig! Horizontal may be in the works.
anyone have a clue about a pipeline? They need to tie these Hwy. 1 wells into something. The closest pipeline I know of runs north of 538, not far from the lanier16 and surely its not very big. The hall 5 that you say may be going horizontal must have or already be tied in somewhere. I guess they could go ahead and drill and not frac till later but seems backward to me. How big is the rig and what co. rig is it? It could take up to 45 days to drill 2000 ft. horizontally but then they have to cement and frac. But finally you would know how good no. caddo shale really is.

Here is a photo of the rig I took this driving south on Hwy 1 this morning (10/10/2008).

nice photo Bain, I guess that is the hall#5 on the right going south? Wonder what the crane is for? I guess they must be setting tanks.
Yes, this is Hall #5. I have noticed two different cranes out there in the last 10 days.
