no, and they should still compensate you for any pad site/damages.

compensation will depend on the wording in the lease; however, in LA there is a implicit understanding that the operator will restore the surface after operations are complete.

Certain types of compensation are generally considered standard, such as timber damage; however, pad/site damages may not be needed to be compensated for as lon as the damages or loss of use are minimal and nessarry to develop the minerals. (again, depending on the lease).
Any difference if you sell a portion of the land but retain the minerals?
Does it work both ways? If they put in a well or other facilities, is the property owner restricted from building certain things within a certain distance from the facilities?
