thanks for posting. What is most fascinating are the comments - 75 and most all of them against the O & G industry - and this is in Tulsa.

responding to Gasland will take an organized effort. Right now, all I see is people milling around until the executioners come. The NG industry needs to get it's side out there - not just slogans, but facts to counter Gasland. You may hate it, but it's getting lots of attention and it's scaring a lot of people who vote.

The majority of the working people don't have time to hang out on web sites and post angry comments at 5:24 in the morning like some losers do. 8-)
The discussion about NEPI (National Energy Policy Institute) is interesting. The title is carefully chosen, but apparently, it's a group of rich treehuggers and politicians masquerading as some sort of legitimate "policy institute."

Is it a law that every Governor of Alaska has to be a dip?

I do think the industry should pay more attention to Gasland and similar items. A LOT of people here in Louisiana have been shafted by the robber baron mentality of the O&G industry. Standard lease terms are a scam trying to prey on the uninformed and elderly. Operators are pretty open about "pencil whooping" people and doing fraudulent accounting on expenses.

It's all great when you get away with it. Unfortunately, if the peasants show up with torches and pitchforks, it becomes a little less fun.

Yes, I know some people will defend the O&G industry, claiming it's all done fair and square. BP may very well think the US government is treating them unfairly at the moment. Even if they're in the right, BP's checkbook says they're in the wrong. If enough of the peasantry gets up in arms, the government will stab the O&G companies in the back.

I'm wondering why onshore drilling and/or ng advocates aren't included in this discussion. Again, not at the table!!!!!
