Does anyone know what state or local department in Louisiana regulates seismic activity and issues permits for seismic activity? I know several people with issues, but have not found who regulates. I know wildlife & fisheries does this for state owned property, but what about privately owned property?

What company created the issues?
Veritas has allegedly done some operations on property not under contract with them. The people have contacted a lawyer but I was wondering what governing authority regulates or oversees their operations to ensure that they are following Louisiana law (or guidelines) concerning this type of activity. No luck so far in my searches.
Well at the least they should be due the 25 dollars per acre...has ANYONE who signed with Veritas received any money?
Oh yes, I talked with one or two land owners Veritas had missed and they said they were at 15 dollars firm on any current offers.
Yes, that is what I heard also, $15 per acre for cable only and an extra $10 per acre for damages if they put holes with charges.
My sisters and I signed with Veritas at least a couple of months ago. We go $15 an acre and
extra $10 for damages. Received check maybe about a month age. They only wanted to pay
$15 but I had already received $25 from another company where I live so we had to be
firm about the $25 but they added the extra $10 to the bottom of the contract.
Ken,
I was one of the early landowners in the Veritas shoot. I was paid over a year ago. Back then, I could not get them up to the $25 ($15 + $10 for damages). But they paid promptly.

They way they work is that the seismic shoot they are doing covers a huge area. They are breaking it out into smaller areas, and conducting the seismic survey one area at a time. They only focus on the upcoming area or two. So many people will not yet have been contacted. But once they start working your area, they will contact you, and lease and pay you.

I had no problem with them, but then I wasn't too demanding either.
Is their office in Mansfield or Coushatta?
The guy I dealt with was in Coushatta.
Ken,
Are they shooting in and around Mitchell, in Sect. 5, T9N, R12W? If so, I have not received a notice.
My aunt received a letter from them on her 5 acres of our 40 acre family property. Not all of us were contacted. S9, T9N, R12W on Sistrunk Loop. So, yes in Mitchell, but not all of us have been contacted.
Donna, Thanks for the info, and congrats on having a share in the Jimmy Brown well. Your aunts hubby an I are 1st cousins and I am sooo happy for all of you, and Jimmy Brown as well. We went to school together.
