EnCana Permits 2nd Haynesville Shale Well in Liberty Field & T12N-R8W (3/5/10)

EnCana has received a permit for their 2nd Haynesville Shale well in T12-R8W.  This well location will be another key data point as it is further east than any previous permitted location.  It is also the eighth Haynesville Shale well permitted south of Ashland Road.

The well is producing into a pipeline that provides a market for the gas (Turned To Sales) and the state test required to receive an allowable production level has not yet been performed. Or likely is has but has not yet been reported. The allowable test and completion report should be available shortly.
Skip - thanks for the information. Being in a non oil/gas producing area of New Mexico I do not understand a lot of the terms used. Where should I look to find the test and completion report on Sonris. Thanks again.
It will be on the Well File in the SONRIS Lite database when Encana has submitted the report and the SONRIS staff has updated the file. You can search by serial number. The completion data will be the last entry (at the top) of the Well Scout and the test report will be a little further down the page below the Well Scout.
Does anyone know if this well is actually producing? The Well Status on Sonris shows "08" which according to the Well Status Code description means INACTIVE INJECTION WELL (COMMERCIAL OR OTHER).
Todd, check the Scout Report Codes and you will find the correct description "WOSP - waiting on state potential".
Gone to sales. 1st money beginning to come in.

Latest on SONRIS for this well:

COMPLETED 8-12-10; ;GAS; HAYNESVILLE RA; 3389 MCFD; 18/64 CHOKE; 1752 BWD; 6592# CP; PERFS 13,476-17,660' MD

Not really impressive.
Better than a sharp stick in the eye!
thanks for the info,

This well is now producing, it is also coming to the end of the lease.  Anyone with any info on how a lease extension is handled on a producing well would be appreciated.  Are they typically leased year to year or for an extended lease term once they go to production?

thanks,

Holly

A producing well holds the existing lease in force with no further negotiations or compensation other than what is called for in the lease language.  By that I mean you will receive your proportional share of production based on your royalty and if the well is shut-in you receive shut-in payments.  The lease will remain in force as long as there is production in the unit by one or more well.  There will be no extension.
I knew you'd come through for us Skip.  My thanks.
