Thanks for the info Mack.........If I remember correctly, my cousin's well (Sec 1) had a leak right after it was completed. It took Camterra about a year to get it repaired, and start producing. Sure hope it doesn't take that long to fix this time.

Permalink Reply by CypressKnees on January 22, 2011 at 5:01 Linda, who is responsible for fixing the leak/leaks?
Will all those people have to move out like the leak in south Shreveport? Are all the leaks contained within DeSoto?
Permalink Reply by J.J.Jones on January 23, 2011 at 3:58 Mack I will add a couple of more sections to your shut-in list. We received a shut-in notice from CHK on the 21st, that's section 26-16n-14w. I believe section 27-16n-14w also received their notices. Sounds to broad to be a pipeline problem to me, but what do I know.

Please add Section 33-16N-14W.
Is there any pattern that emerges from this or is the only commonality Camterra as original operator?
Thank you-
Permalink Reply by FXEF on January 24, 2011 at 7:05 I very seriously doubt that the wells are shut-in due to a pipeline leak, however it could be a pipeline issue. Who's the midstream pipeline company? Could they be at odds with CHK?
Permalink Reply by CypressKnees on January 24, 2011 at 7:37 Who would we go to in order to ask that terribly good question, FXEF?
Thank you for your excellent suggestion.
Should a person call CHK?
FXEF,
My cousin's house is located close to the Camterra well in Sec 1 T15 R14. He said there was an awful smell coming from that area a few days ago. Could that be a leak?

I don't know what kind of odor your cousin was smelling. It's possible it could be coming from a pipeline leak, but probably not.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
