I don't understand all these terms and what they mean. But my family own the Gobi Well in San Augustine. I read this on here today about the Completions dated today (3/6/2011)

405-30350 Gobi#1 H  11.973  MMcfd   16/64  9521  #FP   12/2/10

Could someone explain these terms to me. I know that we were told at the end of last year that we should have some money in our hands in the next few months, but it has been even longer then a few months and still we have not gotton any money yet or heard anything yet. We were told back last year that it was a really big one and it was in production back then. What is going on here, does anyone know or can share any kind of information that would help me understand this better. I have tried very hard to be very patient, as I lost my husband going on 3 years ago now, and this would help me tremendously. Living off of a Survivors check isn't that much, as I had to take it early , I'm not drawing but just two thirds of it to live on and that isn't much . This money would really help me supplement what my other does not.

Martha, first production for the Gobi #1H was reported in December so you should be receiving Division Orders by the end of April if there are no title problems.

The well was a Bossier completion, if I remember correctly.  Each well has an "Initial Potential" test which is used by the state to set the well allowable.  So, the numbers after the well name mean that during the IP test, the well produced an average of 11.973 million cubic feet of gas in a 24 hr. period, on a 16/64 choke with a 9,521 lb. flowing pressure.   It's a good well with great pressures on a fairly restricted choke.

Their web site (http://www.crimsonexploration.com/default.asp?id=1) is not very helpful... they don't have a page for royalty interest owners.

Here are the address and contact numbers found on their main page:

Thank You so much for the information, it did help me understand somewhat.

I hope we see something before April, I have been led to believe that D.O. was already being worked on and that we should be seeing something soon. I have come to the conclusion that noone knows and that when this stuff gets tied up with attorneys all we can do is HURRY UP AND WAIT. Patience is a virtue, one I have never had much of but am being taught painfully!!! All of this is a unexpected gift that my grandmother left me so I am trying not to let the greed bug get me. Martha I hope this all comes through soon for you, it sound like you have been through alot. Hang in there it is coming!!

Lisa, I repeat this every chance I get.  Oil & Gas leasing goes relatively fast because they are in a hurry to lock up land.  Everything after that goes exponentially slower than watching paint dry.  It is painfully tedious to watch and wait for payout from mineral production.  The best advice I can give... keep an eye open for new information but go on with life as usual.  You can't let this stuff turn your world upside down.

If the DO doesn't arrive within the prescribed 120 days then there are steps a proactive mineral owner might want to at least look into but that is a lawyer topic.

Thanks jffree1, you have been very helpful in so many posts of yours I read. This is my first lease so I am learning as I go. I have some more out there so this is going to help me understand and be more patient with those. This is all so crazy it is hard to digest sometimes!!
Lisa, thank you too for your advice and understanding too. Lisa, who was your grandmother , and do you think that we are related? Mine comes from my great grandparents, .down to my grandmother on my mothers side, then down to my mother, then down to me.
Lisa, I just got my division order from crimson, on the gobi well, in the mail.  We should get paid very soon!!
Does anyone have a picture of the Gobi well?  I would really like to see one.

There are some rig pictures on the Black Stone A-43 #1 discussion in this group.
