Future Commerical Developement Hwy 5 at Horn Rd.

I am new to your site.  I do not live in DeSoto Parrish but my parents do.  We have acreage near Hwy 5 and Horn Rd in Logansport.  We are getting phone calls from people wanting to buy our land.  Is there some big development on the way?  We tell these people that we would never sell our mineral rights but they still want land.  Does anyone know of any development that is planned for our area?

i don't know of specific development for your area but i do know that for certain facilities people have negotiated upwards of 20,000 dollars an acre and beyond for projects depending on how bad the coompanies wanted it . i heard of one land owner who got 100,000 to go across his road frontage for a pipeline .

Thanks Kim for your reply.  I was just wondering if a Super Target or Wal-Mart was coming to town.

All of a sudden so much interest in our land without mineral rights?  We gave right-of-way for the pipeline to cross about 3/4 acre.  Regency was handling for the gas companies.  They low balled most of us.  Good for the landowner that got $100K.  Our checks have dropped to about half what they used to be. Comstock told us they were drilling 2 wells many months ago but no word if there is any production.
