Considering the number of wells being completed these days in Sabine Parish, much of the activity is likely rigorous title review associated with Division Orders.  For those looking for new leasing activity, check The Sabine Index Clerk of Court filings which are published periodically.

Since I haven't look closely at Sabine Parish leasing lately, I did a quick drive by.  The volume is low but is still continuing in the same S-T-Rs.  For the month of March Chesapeake filed 47 leases with the Clerk of Court.  The leases covered minerals in the following sections:

 

7N-13W:  S8, 16

8N-13W:  S13, 32, 34

8N-12W:  S5

9N-14W: S4

9N-13W:  S2, 3, 9, 15, 30, 31

9N-12W:  S5, 6, 7, 21

9N-11W:  S22, 23,24, 26, 27, 33, 34

10N-12W:  S24

I find it interesting that Chesapeake leased in S5 T8N R12W, There are quite a few of us in that section who have leases with SWEPI that will expire in May and June. Do they know something we don't? Encouraging anyway.

 

There is a new company...Merritt...that is interested in Sabine. Has anybody heard anything from them?

Both Encana and SWEPI are allowing leases to expire over large areas of the Play.  CHK may have decided to pick some up.  No company by the name, Merritt, has filed any leases with the Clerk of Court in the last 60 days.

Thank you for the info - glad some activity is still going on. Skip do you know anything about a very good well in Sabine County, TX - I do not know S-T-R or even if there is such a well or if that well (if it exist) would be of any value to leasing in Sabine Parish. Do not go to any bother researching - just wondered if you had heard anything.

Leasing and unitization has slowed to a crawl all over.  There are and will be many good wells in parts of Sabine Parish.

Shaleeee, CHK has reported two good wells in Sabine County, one at 17.237 MMcfd and the second at 18.557 MMcfd.  Their locations are in the most northern region of the county which would correspond with T7N in Sabine Parish.

Thank you jffree1 - T7 is in my neighborhood - I think what confuses me most is the references to the Sabine Uplift - Do you think that would rule out certain areas in Sabine Parish?
