A  friend who is knowledgeable of all that work in our area said that they will be doing the work in the autumn.  Most people have not been paid, etc.  He said Joaquin would probably be in the autumn.
MARG--- has 3-D been shot before any where in past few years in area? Have they shot your place before?

Adubu,

Landman for Sietel told me the latest shoot would include Jaoquin and go slightly into Panola and down 7 toward Center.  It will in some places overlap the previous shoot by CHK a year or so ago.  He told me that they would begin to pay once they acquire the rights to 2/3rds of the associated property and that he thought the payout could begin in July.

I pushed him for who was behind the shoot but he, in my opinion was evasive, not quite saying that it was a proprietary shoot by Sietel to be sold to anyone.  This may be true, but I sure wish I knew for sure.

PHB--- Do you know the area and what surveys CHK shot 3-D on? I assume they shot the Henry Ash. where they drilled the Harvey #1H well couple years ago which was disappointment in Haynesville. I hearn the core sample they obtain going thru the shale was accidential stolen from truck that was parked. The truck was stolen and who ever stole it threw it away not knowing what it was when they stole the truck, so they lost the bossier sample but did of course have the Logs of well.

Adubu,

Not for sure but the shoot was titled Shelby East and covered a rather large area and many surveys.

PHB-  I found it -- it's on Seitel data web site-- click on map site on their web site then shelby county then Shelby East -- it show area covered in shoot.
PHB--- I would bet it's Classic, Unit Petroleum, GDP, and XTO that's shooting this Fall in NE Shelby around Joaquin--- they have most of remaining active deep  leases in this area I think.  Seitel's web site got great maps of area they have shot

To all concerned, the Joaquin West 3D seismic survey has officially been cancelled by Seitel Data.  The reason given by Seitel were scheduling issues and the economic downturn.

They have, though the years, done us many times; last time they did a certain trail, but did all of some more property that I own.  It was last autumn, I believe. They did a trail on the property that was closest to your tract.  I am thinking that was 2 D.  This time they are doing the entire survey in 3D (or so I was told LOL).  Also, it was implied that it would be done in the autumn. I had quite a few specs based upon what I was told that happened the previous time.
MarG---the Seitel Web site has great maps of area they have shot-- both 2-D and 3-D--- yes correct they shot 3-D over me in the East Shelby shoot couple years ago.
Thanks!   I enlarged one for an older friend of mine a couple of weeks ago; I had read over them a while back;  suppose they will still shoot in the autumn.  They are only doing one of my tracts this time.  I thought it was two years ago that they did mine; others told me it was just last year.  I have not gone through paperwork as it really does not matter.  Too many factors involved with this now from the federals govt. on down.
I have since heard that the 3D has been cancelled due to funding, etc.  Guess there is no interest in this economy.  No check has been received, etc. So, I believe that it is true that the project is dropped; I have not cared enough to communicate concerning it. Has anyone had official info?  Maybe if we do not collapse in 2012, energy will have a brighter future.  I suppose patience is required as it is a virture in this business; meanwhile, we can be proud of our ability to survive and "hang in, out or on" and pray for our country. LET'S  PRAY FOR FAITH, BLESSINGS , HOPE AND ALOT OF BIG CHANGES!!!!  GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!
