Owenson can you scan and upload the pre-conference version of the new alternate unit well application in its entirety?

There are now 7 new permits into sec 4.
Looks like most are 12000 tvd
A couple are 11900 or so.
Does the TVD include the length of the directional bore to get over to the curve destination,
or is it the actual depth that the horizontal will begin or end?
Thanks,
Permalink Reply by Les Bamburg on October 11, 2011 at 6:03 Owenson, the TVD (True Vertical Depth) on the well permit represents the planned vertical depth of the well from the surface at the end of the lateral. All seven wells have TVD's within 100 ft of each other. Maybe QEP will eventually disclose their objective for these wells.

The alternate wells that would be on 330' spacing were in an application heard on 10/4.

Permalink Reply by Owenson on November 21, 2011 at 13:34 It appears that the state will allow closer spacing. I see that Encana has drilled some wells on 40s previously. See attached field order. May be a while before it happens if QEP is going to go to two rigs. Who can blame them with $3 gas.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
