If anyone has an interest in this field, please contact me. Before the bankruptcy of Southern Star, which held most if not all of the leases in this field, it posted a number extremely favorable  predictions, especially concerning the Haynesville. It had drilled 3 vertical wells to the formation and claimed that it was a member of the consortium in Houston, Core Labs,  which had been formed by a number of companies for the purpose of providing info concerning the Haynesville. I know of this group and it is highly respected. According to Southern Star, all of the info obtained by it from the verticle wells was submitted to Core Labs and Core Labs, among other things, had furnished estimates of recoverable gas which were, to say the least, most impressive. I am trying to find out whether all of this was a fiction made up by Southern Star or whether it did in fact obtain results of Core Labs review of well info and what, in reality was said by Core Labs. Oviously, what was reported by Southern Star could not possibly be correct.

Thanks a lot for your input, Skip ( just call me Neil). What 2 wells seem to have the necessary production? What criteria do you use in deciding whether there is "production in paying quantities?"

I'll send further comments to your member page, Neil.

The website was the brainchild of Keith Mauck, a landowner and entrepreneur who recognized a pressing need: landowners in the region had little access to…
