AIX has within the last few months permitted 9 vertical wells in Township 23N Range 7W (East Haynesville Field) of Claiborne Parish, 8 of which were permitted or drilled to a depth sufficient to test the Brown Dense (see the "LSBD wells as of 2-3-2012" discussion in this group.)

Completion results have been reported at SONRIS Lite for 3 of these wells and perforation data reported for a 4th. Interestingly, each of these 4 wells seems to have been completed or perforated in a different formation or zone. The Hardin #1 was completed at 10430'-10520' in the Upper Smackover A zone; the Hardin #2 was completed at 10132'-10247' in the Haynesville sand; the Garrett L&T was completed at 11442'-11475' in the Lower Smackover; and the Camp et al. #1 has been perforated at 10876'-10940', which looks like the Upper Smackover C zone.

It must be nice for the operator to have so many zones from which to choose!

Those zones only need be marginally productive to HBP the leasehold.  Check continuing production to get an idea of whether these wells were drilled because of an expectation of commercial production from the zones or for some other reason.

More AIX, obed.

Thanks, they just keep coming, don't they?

Good News?  I hope!

Me too, Jon. They should be accumulating a lot of data on the BD, which should be useful to the horizontal drillers.

I see that the AIX MCA RESOURCES 001(9-23-7) has TD'd at 13218 feet, which makes it the deepest of the above wells so far, by about 900 feet. 5 1/2 " casing has been set to 13050'. What are they looking for at this depth, the Norphlet?

You have to check the completion reports for notations on the depth by top of formation for those formations penetrated by the other wells in the vicinity.  They will be located in the SONRIS Classic portion of the database.

I recently posted this in the Claiborne Parish Group.  You can look up those Field Orders referenced to access their depth definitions.

Thanks Skip, but I haven't become adept at using SONRIS Classic, and I'm not sure any wells in the vicinity have been drilled below 13000 feet. You may have to look this up.

obed, SONRIS Classic is easy to use.  And you are too interested not to learn to access it.   There is a lot contained in the individual reports that is not included in the SONRIS Lite well files.

In the left column, click on Document Access, then click on Document Type, then scroll down and click on Well Permit to Drill/Amend.  Enter the well serial number and check the box, Get Associated Documents.  Let me know if you have any questions.  This section of the database is where you find the detailed information not included in SONRIS Lite.

I have to hold down the Ctrl key when I click search for anything to pop up. I haven't tried to figure that out yet, I didn't have to do that with the old Sonris, may have somthing to do with the pop up blocker. Probably need to use Internet Explorer also, seems most state sites prefer that to other web browsers.

Yep, TD,P.  Internet Explorer is probably the key.  I haven't tried to access Classic on another browser in some time.

Skip, so far I'm not having any luck, using either Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer. When I click on "Search" after following your instructions, it just returns to the original list of topics which includes the"Well Permit to Drill/Amend" that I had already selected. I noticed that the SONRIS tutorial said something about having to disable Pop-up blockers to get the system to work, so maybe this is my problem.
