Obed, "significant" production can have two different meanings. One is a level of production that provides enough incentive to proceed with additional evaluation of the formation with vertical and/or horizontal tests. A second meaning is the production is sufficient to justify economic development with vertical wells. The former is more likely than the later.
Has anyone been past the drill site recently? Has the fracking been completed? Does anyone know any more info about whats going on? Thanks in advance fellow shalers.
Does fracking in LSBD take longer than Haynesville shale? Seems like a dumb question but I figure I can't be the only one wondering about this. EXXON's shareholder meeting used to around this time of year. I wonder if they would make any comments about this at the meeting?
Passed by on Hwy 2 today and could still see blue fracking trailers lined up at the pad. Does anybody have an idea what is going on?
Just a guess, but... Is XTO/Exxon drilling another well nearby? I believe this location is not near any existing oil and gas drilling and production to speak of. If they are drilling a nearby well, they may simply be holding the tanks on the first location waiting for the second. It would be cheaper to pay a couple of weeks rent than to pay for hauling them back home and then back out to location.
Since the XTO EXXON MOBIL #1 was re-permitted to a vertical well on 1/24/12 it is basically Waiting On Completion, if indeed the operator chooses to do so. It was drilled to Total Depth 12/8/11.
The well has been fracked.
They probally repermitted to insure this well would serve to interupt prescription, as a well must be drilled to the permitted depth to count.
Driving by on Hwy 2 today and notced the frac trailers are still parked there. Didn't pay too much attention until 2 hours later when I came back through and noticed a big tank. decided to drive down the road closer and discovered it was a big tank truck. I figured they drilled the well to hold leases in that area but now I wonder. I understand that there has been a good bit of leasing just east of there across Beouf River. Wonder if the Baron or Skip has any ideas.
1 TO 2 MILES DUE EAST OF THE SITE.
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
