What is the scoop?

There is a new mega well pad, fenced with security guards, a road to die for, and no rig on site.

Pad is located just north of the new Many Wal-Mart, road beside the mobile home park, on the east side of Hwy 171 - T-7 probably R-11 or R-12 - Sabine Parish.

Now for the rumors: Company is Shell - going for oil and gas - 3-D seismic permiting now by CGG Veritas (not a rumor) to include 100 square miles. Some leasing already going on -  Absolutely no one (visitors) allowed on site now or later. Rig to be in place in next few weeks.

Carson community  is where the Carson Baptist Church is located (Old Pleasant Hill Road) (S5-T8-R12)

The well is located on Gary Lee's property and it just recently went in and is drilling. It is the: Nabors #624 Rig, Shell, Gary Lee 7 #1 Well, SN 244116, S6(7)-T8N-R12W.

I believe that well is located in a section corner and there are/were plans to drill 3? wells from there.

This is not the new well I see 7 miles North of Walmart, is it?  I am in Sec. 32-8-12 and this well is 1 mile from my home.  I assume it's a well, it sure stands out at night.  Anyone have any info. on this.  Thanks!

No this is not the well to be drilled on Chris Alford road (rig is still not on site) - there is a rig on the site you mentioned (located on hwy 171 north of Walmart, Many, LA, what I have been told is that this is a workover rig (possibly Cenergy) spudding a new well or working over an older well - both just hearsay.

Pinergy (for Petrohawk) also spudding two wells near the crossroads in Converse ( first one near Jolly Rogers Marina second one a couple of miles down the road) I think these are alternative wells.

Drove back to the well 7 miles north of WalMart on 171 on Friday. The only sign anywhere was "Energy Drilling Rig #9". The condition of the road could lead one to speculate they are on a tight budget.

The Petrohawk well to east of 191 south of crossroads is not an alternate. It is a unit well going horizontal into Sec 25. My family has a small interest in the unit so I am certain of this. Don't know about the other one.

S P L, Thank you for the info - Congrats on having an interest in a well - hope it is a monster well with 7 more to follow. Is it oil or gas or both? I am happy to know when there is any activity in the parish.

Thanks! A monster would be great! I'm assuming the Petrohawk well is gas, as it's a Haynesville. I'm really interested in the Fredricksburg Lime well permitted last week as 244417. That's Samson Contour & they are looking for oil. The pad for it has been cleared of timber. It's off the loop on Paddie Road. If that well is successful things should get exciting again for all in the area.

There are a lot of us interested....would be great!

Seismic equipment being brought for 3-D seismograph by CGG for S-19 T-7 R-ll.  Those white trucks and vans look really good running the roads! LOL - glad there is activity of any kind.

Yes Shaleeee, I also got a letter from CGGVeritas to conduct 3-D seismic on my property, Sec 32-8-12

David, CGG called and said they would be starting the seismic activity today on our property!!!

CGG wanting permission in 8-25-13 W (minerals underwater)

Ken, that is great! Would that area be around the Toledo Town area? I can not help but wonder what is going on around Sabine Parish - with the slow down in drilling, why is CGG moving forward with so much seismic activity - from what I have been told and can see from the stakes along and to the west of Hwy 171 north of Many and the activity on our property they are doing a 10 mile X 10 mile seismograph!!!  If it indicates future interest in the area, I guess that would be a good thing. Heck, anymore nothing makes sense! LOL
