What is the scoop?

There is a new mega well pad, fenced with security guards, a road to die for, and no rig on site.

Pad is located just north of the new Many Wal-Mart, road beside the mobile home park, on the east side of Hwy 171 - T-7 probably R-11 or R-12 - Sabine Parish.

Now for the rumors: Company is Shell - going for oil and gas - 3-D seismic permiting now by CGG Veritas (not a rumor) to include 100 square miles. Some leasing already going on -  Absolutely no one (visitors) allowed on site now or later. Rig to be in place in next few weeks.

This is between Stewart's and Nursing home just north of Zwolle...but their

office is open and running in Mansfield so there is work to be done.

Ken, that is interesting about the office as well as the location of your area. From the description I have heard your area is in the 10X10 square miles of interest - beginning south of Nobel and ending north of Many city limits. (Street talk)

Appeared to be rigging up today on Fredricksburg Lime well 244417. Hope some of the seismic interest is due to possibility of oil in that or other formations.

Great! I will be anxious to hear how this goes - thanks!

Makes me wonder why Comstock unitized 8-5-13w at a late date....seems something might be going on on in this area.

Went by rig on April 6, appears to be drilling ahead. (Star Scan)....the proof will be in the puddin!

Should not be long before we know if this is the start of something good - I just do not think a company would be spending the big bucks for 3D siesmic at this time unless there was a lucrative reason. Update the progress as you learn new details. Thanks

I thought it was very interesting that when we were contacted a couple of years ago about some land we have near Pleasant Hill we were told that several companies had gone together to have the work done, since it was very expensive. I understand that the work being done now is for Shell. Anybody know for sure? Maybe they know something, or hope for something. Or maybe we are the ones hoping. :-)

Just want to clarify, Ken. Are you talking about the well site just up from Walmart - down the road by the trailer park?  31(6) 8(7) 11?  And, if so, is there a rig there? And may I ask what is "Star Scan"?

Thanks for the posting.

Scan Star drilled one of my wells.  Scan Drilling is the company Star is name of the rig I would assume.

Thanks. I have never heard of them....but then that is not unusual. :-)

Sorry, they are on Paddie loop off 191 and Old Dog is right...It is Scan Star. This is one of many Sampson is supposed to drill in Fredricksburg lime....hoping for some liquids on this one to jump start things.
