Devon has meeting Wednesday, April 4 and the brown dense is on the agenda.

There was no mention of Brown Dense. Just talked about their current plays and 2 new oil plays which they are still leasing in so they don't want to talk about them.

My question is with regard to slide 74...they are talking about their undisclosed oil play #1.  It says they currently have 250k acres and their target is 500k acres.  I am thinking this would be the LSBD field?  I look forward to hearing more comments from the group.

Hey Skip, no I guess I was just thinking out loud. :)  Sorry, didn't mean to insinuate anything.  I was just wondering about the current acreage that Devon has in the LSBD and was curious to hear if anymore acreage has been bought up by them lately.

Devon is "old school" meaning they don't issue a lot of press releases or provide much information on their E&P activities in general.  Many mineral and working interests involved with them consider them to be too slow and deliberate in an age when other energy companies move quickly and accept more risk.  Everyone I know thinks highly of their technical capabilities when it comes to drilling and completing challenging wells.  I don't recall seeing any contemporary O&G leases in their names, only assignments.  Meaning they use land companies to do all their leasing and generally do not admit any connection to ongoing lease acquisitions.  If memory serves, they have stated that they have 40,000 acres prospective for the LSBD.  For a company like Devon, that's not much.
