Anadarko has applied to the Commissioner to form a 960 acre HA drilling unit including all of Section 18 and the S 1/2 of 7 - 20N - 14W.  The application will be heard at the September 25 hearings date.  Link to app follows:

Rick, there are leases associated with the Anadarko prospect in close proximity to S6 - 19N -14W.  I do not show any in your specific section but some portion of Section 6 is HBP (Held By Production).  If Anadarko has acquired the drilling rights from the current lessee it likely would not show up in the Caddo Clerk of Court records.  You may have to wait for results from the first wells in 20N - 14W,

Many thanks, Skip!  I really appreciate the info.

Anadarko's HA unit application references Field Order 122-Y.  122-Y defines the Haynesville Zone, Reservoir A as being the stratigraphic equivalent of that interval encountered between the depths of 8,390' and 10,300' (electric log measurement) in the Texaco, Inc. D L Gish No. 1 well located in Section 23, Township 20 North, Range 15 West, Caddo Parish, Louisiana.

Skip, any thing in 17-19-16?

I see where there is shallow production.....since these are very old shallow wells do you think the shallow operators are leasing out the deep to anyone?

Yes, there are leases recorded for S17 - 19N - 16W.  Yes, Anadarko will get local operators of shallow production to assign their deep rights.  I've been pointing out the large amount of HBP acreage in the areas of new leasing since I first brought up this subject.  In this particular instance the amount of HBP acreage could easily be 2 to 4 times what we will see in new leases.

I am the last of 40 acres in this section that is not HBP or leased. I don't see where anything has been filed for the section, do you? And if so do you think it will be a 960 acre unit?

Coonman, I've already posted that one or more new leases are filed with the Caddo Clerk of Court for Section 17 - 19N -16W.  Yes, I think all units to come will be 960 acres or larger because that's what is required to make economic horizontal wells.

Thanks Skip,

Will they send out a hearing letter?..... or did they already..I never received anything.

I am unaware of any HA unit currently including Section 17.   There were very few Haynesville Drilling Units formed in North Caddo after the first well results were known.  Those that have been formed previously will likely be dissolved and reformed into larger units.  Notice letters will go out when new unit applications are made.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
